JUNIOR TENNIS
COACHING
Junior coaching runs for ages 4–18.
We have over 25 years’ experience delivering high-quality junior coaching in the Downton and Salisbury area, supporting players from first sessions through to county, regional and national level.
Led by Lee Mahony, an LTA Level 4 Performance Coach, we offer structured, inclusive coaching for juniors of all abilities — focused on enjoyment, confidence and long-term development.

Summer Term-Time Tennis
Venue: Downton Tennis Centre, Wick Ln, Downton, Salisbury SP5 3NF
Junior coaching runs termly, in line with Wiltshire school terms.
Mini Tennis & Development Groups
Entry-level sessions for players new to tennis, or those developing the core skills expected for their age. The focus is on confidence, coordination, technique and enjoying time on court.
Performance Groups
For players who have mastered age-appropriate skills and are progressing more quickly. Sessions introduce greater consistency, tactical awareness and a more competitive element, while continuing to build strong fundamentals.
Elite Groups
For committed players training multiple times per week, often alongside individual or additional training. Sessions are performance-focused, with an emphasis on match play, competition and long-term player development.
Summer Term-Time Tennis - Starts W/C 20th April
10 sessions - 55 minutes
Half-term break: W/C 25th May
Coaching continues over bank holidays.
All junior coaching players must be Downton Tennis Centre members in order to join.

The Centre
Play tennis all year round at Downton Tennis Centre (DTC) with 2 indoor courts, 3 outdoor courts, 4 mini-courts and a practice wall — for all ages and abilities.
Forming part of Downton Leisure Centre, benifit from a friendly reception, free parking, café, clubhouse, indoor viewing gallery, floodlit outdoor courts, showers and full leisure centre facilities.
